Couple of issues in V 1.0

Not sure about the following things as I only had them reported in German without screenshots or so.

Issue 1:
When trying to assign a config - the config dialog is unresonsive after a few steps and can only be closed by the task manager. This way you need to start and close Talone 20 times until you made it to your config. Kami reported this. I will follow up and make sure you get more details!

Issue 2:
When trying to chat - by "t" or "F4" the chat dialog closes after only 0,5-1 second. You really need to hurry to start typing otherwise the dialog is closed. Kami, Garfield, Julian confirmed the same issue.

Issue 3:
The Launcher crashes when trying to switch / change selection between servers (to see their details). Even after it has just been opened. Happened to me the first time today. Boogie said he ran into the same more than once already in V 1.0

I understand these problems are reported very vaguely and not in a proper manner. But as _I_ don't have proper details yet, but I hope i can convince others to post details or we can use this to get further....

This reads somewhat similar to earlier problems with the config dialogs on the RC2.

- ingame, I have problems mapping my joystick axes. Trying to remap the "roll-axes" to "joystick-raxis" does not work, neither do any other axes work on the stick. Outside the game the mapping works. Maybe some priority problem in input processing flow.
Edit: It seems that I cannot re-bind *any* key while in the game. The only accepted input is the mouse, neither escape seems to work....

Again not sure about the specific settings. As an observation, the ingame and outgame confic dialogue behaves quite differently.

That might give the necessary clue. I hope so, because these are odd bugs which I have never seen. They certainly need to be addressed, though.

Re: Couple of issues in V 1.0

I get a crash when I try any level on V1.0
Even if I start a game myself.

Merlin, try uninstalling your game with iobit uninstaller, and do the powerful option. then reinstall and you should be fine. also I had an issue with the game crashing everytime a level finished loading, it would go away if I ran the game windowed, only way to fix it was to a clean install.

Re: Couple of issues in V 1.0

Tried iobit and removed it all.  Reinstalled Talon 1.0 and it remembered my name and settings and continues to crash when I try to join a game.

Thats really strange, I would try it again and look in the folder that you installed talon in and make sure it didn't miss something.

Re: Couple of issues in V 1.0

I had to install it to a brand new folder.  Even if I deleted the folder and reinstalled to the same path it wouldn't work.  Now the only problem I have is that when I join a game, my missiles fire automatically

Re: Couple of issues in V 1.0

Merlin, if you're still experiencing this bug, please try this: open "main.cs" in the base Talon install directory, and add

$DisableSystemProfiling = true;

to the list of defines at the top of the file.

edit: Ok, I missed that last update. Missiles fire automatically?? Crap, how did that happen.

Re: Couple of issues in V 1.0

The problem is probably the presence of beta or demo pref files in the Windows VirtualStore (C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\[Games\Talon]).

Some earlier pref files cause issues with the new build. I need to figure out how best to address this problem.

Re: Couple of issues in V 1.0

I removed those folders and started a game.  Somehow my missiles keep firing until I run out of them.  Not sure if it conflicts with the mouse settings or not.  Could you now include an override for when users select Joystick and that way any settings for the mouse are not used?

Re: Couple of issues in V 1.0

I confess I'm confused by that bug. Is this with the default config? What is bound to the secondary trigger? Does unbinding either of them resolve it?

I have seen bugs of that sort in previous versions, but not for some time now.
