Future :)

Hello all! My congrats to Author for his recent Real Life (tm) achievemnts! :-) I mean kids, obviously. I have 5-years old wonderboy too! smile
I decided to check on "Talon" again, and I see there is some life in it smile In recent months I started to be pro-active on my passion for aerial sci-fi combat games. For now, that includes Twitter and blog:
Why so, well, I am in love to such games since 1995. "Terminal Velocity". Yeah... Story short, novadays - there is a bit of renaissance of genre. 6DOF "Descent"-style - there is no shortage of those. Overload, Descent Underground, Geocore, Sublevel Zero, Neon XSZ. But, there is also awakening in aerial (non-tunnel) games. Already available Sky Rogue, Nightstar Rogue Wings, later we will have new game Firewing: Fall of Icarus, by creators of Alpha Squadron games, and also new Fractal Combat game is in works. And some more.
So, I would like to ask about Talon. If passion for game is still going, what are future possibilities, even if not "written in stone"? Can it become real enjoyable singleplayer maybe? Maybe aerial levels? I would appreciate any info. I I will spread the word, if Author gives a go for that.

I hate to break this to you, but I'm pretty sure that everyone has closed up shop. I absolutely agree with you, I love Talon, as well as just about any 6dof games I can get my hands on, but I don't think we are ever going to see a single-player campaign to this game. I really think that this is a shame, because this game honestly deserves far more. I really wish it had included more content, because I thought Talon had more solid game play than any other 6dof game, other than Descent.

I have been wrestling with ideas for better sinlge-player gameplay. Version 1.2 has a new arcade/challenge-type single-player mode.

I have interest in developing mission-type single-player/co-op campaign, but I don't have an actionable plan.

I won't promise anything, but I'll consider ideas or suggestions anyone has on this subject.
