Talon for Bitcoin (or Litecoin, or Primecoin, or...)

Any plans on accepting any of the cryptocurrencies for Talon?  I suggest it because anyone that accepts one or more of the various cryptocurrencies tends to get big exposure on subreddits and the coin's respective forums.  Could be helpful!

https://coinbase.com/ makes it easy to accept bitcoin and move it to USD
coins-e.com or cryptsy.com make it easy to go from one coin to another

Just a thought!

Where's the logic ?

Usually you try to keep your inbound currency the same as your outbond currencies, so you are less suceptible to conversion fluctuations.

Unless you can hedge against currency conversion risk, the only option is to sell bitcoins immediately.

Re: Talon for Bitcoin (or Litecoin, or Primecoin, or...)

In theory, I love BitCoin. I like the idea of a decentralized, virtual currency. In practice, it's still a bit of a mess, nowhere near stable enough for my taste, and I'm not at all sure it will last. I was concerned from the start that the system would have hidden, crippling flaws; mostly because almost all human-built systems do, and because in a complete-history-dependent system such as this, it will be practically impossible to correct them once they are discovered. A recently released study from Cornell didn't exactly boost my confidence. Mostly, though, I don't like how unstable the currency currently is, because of the way people handle new systems like this, treating it like an "investment" instead of a currency (expecting it to appreciate based on more people wanting it because of the perception that it will appreciate). It's unstable, it's gambling, I don't like it. I want to like it, but I can't as yet.

Re: Talon for Bitcoin (or Litecoin, or Primecoin, or...)

it's great if you use it as a currency, but not if you plan on converting to USD.  I buy all of my digital goods in cryptocurrency that I earn with my computers at home, so it works out well for me, but I wouldn't want to mess with converting it to a fiat currency.

That article about the 51% attack is well known, but mostly just a thought exercise - the practicality of it happening is not very.  It's also not something every cryptocurrency is subject to, just bitcoin.

Cryptos are the way of the future, but yep, they're a mess atm so I don't blame you.
