TeamSpeak2

If anyone is interested in "in-game" chatting, I have modified one of my TS2 servers for Talon. You will need the client from Teamspeak.com. The server address is red.damnserver.com:8769 and until you are registered enter the server password Talon

Re: TeamSpeak2

There is a TeamSpeak3 Server, too: TS3.TalonGame.NET:11236 - it's working fine but will be tweaked shortly.

Re: TeamSpeak2

to be honest, teamspeak is the least used voip out there. when it comes to quality voip's, it is usually 1:mumble 2:ventrilio 3:teamspeak
EDIT: I do have all three installed though, so it should not be an issue for me. But others might protest.

Re: TeamSpeak2

If you're referring to TS2 I'd probably agree - but not since TS3. Had them all myself but did not reinstall any other tool than TS3. Ventrillo is cool but I won't support that until they finish their Linux client after 8? years ;-)

Yep, seems to be the way of the gaming community. Players protest at those of us that provide free services. I have TS3 installed as well, but am not as used to it to easily change settings as I am in TS2. Then there is the whole issue between TS and Vent, but I'm not going to get into that again. Lets just hope Talon gets the following like Descent did so that there is an abundance of Dedicated servers, both game and voice.

Re: TeamSpeak2

Full ACK! Good to have different servers for different sorts of techniques.

I withdraw my offer then. I guess there are mumble and Ventrilio servers to use that are much better than the TS2 servers.

It is fine if you have a ts3 server up, I am sure a lot of people would use it.

The thing is, the majority of what is left of the active descent community all use mumble (talking about the descent rangers here).

the reason I personally like mumble the best is that it consistently has the lowest overhead, meaning the packets are smaller, and the lag is less. Another thing is their servers are usually cheaper yet somehow the sound quality is better.

But like i said earlier, I have all three programs installed. So it would not be much of an issue for me to use TS3 if I need to.
